1940's Victory Hair Pin Kit WW II History - How the Home Front Supported Troops

I just found an Original Box of Victory Hair Pin Kit's. Victory like other
companies
supported conservation of raw materials during WWII. Read the below paragraph that is on the back of the box.

This is an example where the Home Front did their part to support the war effort.
The Hair Pins were a product of: Smith Victory Corp. Buffalo, New York.
These are Old New Stock out of an Original Box. There is no count on the box of the quantity, but I would guess Fifty or more. They also seem to be different sizes in the box.
