Description
Iconic Purinton Slipware in the Apple and Pear FRUIT Pattern, probably made in the 1940's-50's. The company closed in 1959. All pieces have an apple on one side and a pear on the other EXCEPT the mini pitcher which has an apple on one side, and is blank on the reverse. Well known for their hand painted designs on cream, the pieces have become an icon of the "Country Rustic" look. Certainly at home next to homespun towels and hand dipped candles. The Cream Pitcher is about 3" tall to the top of the lid, the sugar about 4" to the top of the lid, the jug Salt & Pepper about 2 1/2" and the mini pitcher about 1 1/2".
Condition: Good for the age. the Creamer does have a crack from the edge to the handle, the Sugar Lid does have a chip. The stoppers for the S&P are present but look somewhat damaged and are probably brittle. These do have manufacturing flaws such as dark spots and trash under the glaze. Please see pictures.
