Doctor Mordrid was modeled after the Marvel comics character Dr. Strange, and is considered one of Full Moon's best movies. This rare script would be a great acquisition for fans of the studio's films and horror sci-fi star Jeffrey Combs (Herbert West in RE-ANIMATOR and several Star Trek roles).
Anton Mordrid (Jeffrey Combs) is a sorcerer given the assignment of guarding the Earth for the last 150 years. Mordrid has assumed the role of a criminal psychologist and befriended police researcher Samantha Hunt (Yvette Nipar), his neighbor in the apartment building he secretly owns. He is warned by his superior the Monitor that his brother, the evil wizard Kabal (Brian Thompson) has escaped and come to Earth. Kabal needs the Philosopher’s Stone and several elements for a spell, to open the gate unleashing demons from the Fourth Dimension on the Earth. Mordrid detects a series of thefts of the elements that Kabal is seeking, and he begins to search for his nemesis.
Samantha is persistent in her attempts to penetrate Mordrid's secretive life.
The battle for Earth spills over into the Magic Dimension where the gate is closely guarded by other good wizards. They are no match for Kabal, who defeats all but one of them. The survivor confirms Kabal's plans for Mordrid, and Mordrid returns to Earth
    to prepare his defenses.
When detective Tony Gaudio shows Samantha photos from one of Kabal’s victims, she recommends that he go to Mordrid to identify the occult markings on the girl's body. Instead, the ignorant Gaudio arrests Mordrid. Locked up and with the amulet that protects him confiscated, this makes Mordrid vulnerable to attacks by Kabal’s underlings.
When Mordrid is arrested for murder, Samantha attempts to prove his innocence. Mordrid reveals his true nature and his mission to her, and she agrees to help him escape. In their final showdown Kabal and Mordrid battle inside the Cosmopolitan Museum, with Kabal animating a Tyrannosaurus skeleton to kill several museum guards while he opens the portal to the demon realm. Mordrid animates a Mastodon skeleton to fight the dinosaur while he deals with Kabal. Using his wits and magical power, Mordrid narrowly manages to kill Kabal by having the mastodon impale him on its tusk, preventing the destruction of reality as we know it. His mission accomplished, Mordrid is summoned by the Monitor to cross over again into the Magic Dimension. Later Mordrid returns to Earth to reunite with Samantha and begin a new romantic partnership.
