Description:
The set of four beautiful silver coins made by Singapore in 2008 shows the so called Identity Plan of the city state. The plan includes further developing of the world-famous tropical gardens, which are grown in Singapore instead of deforested lands. The plant symbol of Singapore is a hybrid orchid Vanda; the diversity of other orchids grows in the unique gardens and parks of the island state. The coins are struck of pure silver and each has 1 dollar denomination. The reverse side of each piece has colored image of the object of the Identity Plan. The whole number of the objects is 4 and they supposed to occupy the 9 km long chain of hills along the seashore. The obverses of the pieces bear traditional Singapore’s Coat of Arms and the name of the state in English, Chinese and Malaysian. There are year of issue and the face value indicated as well.
