Charming Vintage Brown German Shepherd Head Wisk Clothing Lint Brush Broom, in which the dog I believe was made of molded Syroco.  It measures to be about 7 1/4" tall from the top of the dog head to the foot of the brush x  roughly 3" at its widest , when the bristles of the brush are left to spread, without pressing on the bristles. The dog head itself is about 3 1/4" tall and about 2 inches wide at its widest.
Syroco is the abbreviated name for the Syracuse Ornamental Company, which produced a material also called Syroco , that resembled and felt like wood, but was actually made of Adirondick wood pulp, flour and other materials to simulate carved wood, resulting in lower manufacturing costs.  My understanding is that the company had been known to have used wood molds made by carvers originally from Europe, to form the shapes for their Syroco pieces. I believe the piece was produced circa 1940s.  It has hand painted eyes. I also learned that there are hard fighting Syroco collectors, who can be very competitive in securing Syroco items.
The piece looks great and displays beautifully!  It is in very good vintage condition with minor wear and tear including, chipping, rubbing, paint loss and perhaps some minor scratches. The brush itself looks old,  perhaps faded a bit from over the years, and some bristles are loose, but overall it is in very good condition for its age.,
